Mother Nature done goooood!

Go. To. Norway. I honestly think I can leave it at that. I'll let the pics do the talking for me...enjoy!

After landing in Bergen, in the wee hours of the morning, we boarded our train that took us up, up, up to the town of Myrdal. Our stay in Myrdal was short-lived though, as we dumped our luggage onto the next train down, and set off on our next mode of transportation, bikes!

The scenery along the ride down wasn't too shabby

Who else thinks, "wide open spaces..." when they look at this picture? (sorry for getting that song stuck in your head now)

After a successful ride down (aka no tumbles!), we arrived in Flam, where the mystical Sognefjord begins. We stayed one more town away, in Aurland...and as we hiked, kayaked and swam, we simply kept wishing that time would stand still. As you scroll below, think The Land Before Time (talk about a blast from the past...I think you'll see why this kept popping into my head).
To give you a little perspective, that tiny boat is in fact a cruise ship!

Oh, hello view

Our cute Scandinavian town of Aurland

I hope this memory never disappears into the fog

The top of our hike! Celebrating with a beverage, of course!

Just like the title of this blog posts states, Mother Nature done goooood!

How to get Kristin to hike faster, you ask? Line the pathway with millions of FIRE ANTS! I was seriously freaking out...I think we saw at least five small hills ant mounds overflowing with these creepy crawlers. Nothing could ruin the beautiful views though (well, except maybe fire ants?).

Perfect reflection while kayaking

Grant was very brave, and went swimming in the Fjord...the fact that he thought he might have hypothermia when he emerged kept me from entering though...

Our five-hour cruise through the Fjords, heading north to Bergen. The Sognefjord is nothing short of spectacular!

Grant kept the Captain company for awhile

Ahhhh Bergen (sigh). We absolutely LOVED this sea-side town, especially all of the incredibly fresh seafood they had to offer.
Waiting for our delicious crab dinner, at 11pm...during the summertime, it's actually never pitch black here, making it much easier for us old folks to stay up late (in fact, one of us is turning 30 very soon!).

Deeeeeeeelicious!

Bryggen - the oldest part of Bergen, which was operated by German merchants

Heavenly seafood platter

Now, don't forget to book your holiday to Norway. (seriously, do it!)
